Local Barbeque at it's Finest

Located near the University of South Alabama on Old Shell Road is one of the best kept culinary secrets in Mobile. Situated under shady oak trees, and with an old an old smoker grill near the road as a landmark, is The Brick Pit, home to some of the best barbeque in the area.

The smoked chicken and ribs are excellent, and the pulled pork is first-rate. Red potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, and white bread are served with plates or order the “brick bites”, smoked pork or chicken on sour dough rolls. Top with your choice of Brick Pit “original” or “spicy” sauce.

Their unique barbeque flavor comes from the time they invest in smoking their pork, ribs, and chicken.   Check out the video below showing some of their secrets.

The atmosphere is homey with reviews written on the walls by patrons and the owner or cook walking around making sure everything is just right. Finish your meal with home made banana pudding for a special treat.

  1. I have been told the ribs at The Brick Pit are very good. Their ribs are so tender the meat just falls off the bones. Is this really true? I hope to get to try them one day. I really like barbeque!
